Stories from students and youth leaders who attended that event have been pouring in. Here are a few samples of some of the stories we’ve been getting. Praise God for how He is moving among this generation of preteens!
“The best part is all the kids getting together and talk about God – after all, He is our Holy Father. It was so fun last year, and I love it this year, too. We make friends … and eat pizza at Plug ‘N’ Play.”
Brielle DeBell, 12, Bridgeway Church, Oklahoma City
“We love it! SuperStart keeps kids interested and it’s fun – there’s a lot of great lessons.”
Amanda Carnott, First Baptist Church of Piedmont
Sixteen middle schoolers and their youth leaders from First Baptist Church of Piedmont, near Oklahoma City, were enjoying Plug ‘N’ Play together. This year made the church’s fifth SuperStart experience, and it was the biggest group they’ve ever sent. Youth leader Stephanie Parnell laughed about the leaders’ tendency to go home with sore arms from the vigorous air hockey battles.
“We just have a blast,” she said. “Our youth leader will use the lanyard the Sunday after SuperStart, and the kids remember the skits and simple messages – and the people. They feel like they know the people on the stage by the time it’s over.”
