Puerto Rico Update 2
Posted: Tuesday, June 25, 2019
We had a fantastic day on our first “work day”. We spent the day at the Rhodes home. Ms. Rhodes passed away in November and was one of the founders of The Puerto Rican Christian School, the school where we are staying.
The home needed attention. The school now owns the home and they want to be able to use it to host small short term mission groups, student teachers, and other groups. The house needed a good cleaning inside and an interior paint job. The carport and laundry room needed to be cleaned as well as two large storage closets needed to be emptied, cleaned out, trash thrown away and a rearranging of the closets. Finally, the exterior landscape was totally overgrown. We had to chop down trees, trim palm trees and bushes, mow the lawn and basically rework the backyard.
The day finished off with pizza and chicken wings at Brian and Anna Marie Smith’s home. Brian is one of the pastors at TBCC. We had a wonderful end to our evening as we discussed the day and how our ministry principles applied to day while eating ice cream and cookies.
Looking forward to a great day tomorrow and see how God works in and through us.
