Puerto Rico Update 1
Posted: Monday, June 24, 2019
Our travel day from Miami to San Juan began very early with a 4:00am shuttle to the airport! Once we arrived at our home base for the week, Puerto Rico Christian School, we got settled in our classrooms. The afternoon and evening consisted of touring the school campus, a prayer walk, and enjoying some cultural food from a food truck.
Our team had the privilege of worshiping at Toa Baja Christian Church, where Brian Smith talked about the kingdom of heaven and how many lives can be changed by our grace. “Holding a grudge doesn’t make you strong. It makes you bitter. Forgiving doesn’t make you weak. It sets you free.” - Dave Wills
After stuffing ourselves at Harry’s Tacos we spent the remainder of afternoon and evening at Old Town San Juan. The colorful city is so rich in history, and we enjoyed wandering through shops and then exploring Castillo San Felipe del Morro, which was built in the 16th century to defend the city of San Juan.
That’s a wrap for tonight! Blessings to our families and friends. We cover your prayers as we strive to be a light in the city of Levittown.
