Northern Ireland Summer Madness Update 6
Posted: Sunday, July 07, 2019
The end of our time in Northern Ireland has been bittersweet. The relationships we’ve built with our friends in this country have gone deep in a short amount of time, and so saying goodbye is difficult. But we know that in Christ we are one church and will one day be reunited.
We ended street Reach with a festival at the church, and more than 200 people from the community attended. The pastor of the church, Peter, said afterward that 80% of those who had attended were people he had never seen at the church before. When we joined the congregation for church on Sunday morning, some of those were also in attendance for Sunday worship for the first time! It was an incredibly affirming moment to see a direct result of our labors throughout the week.
On Saturday we were able to take a tour of the north coast. It is impossible to stand at the edge of the world on Giant’s Causeway and look out over the Atlantic Ocean and not be in awe of all that God has done. It was an incredible experience, and one that our team will not soon forget. It was also a great reminder that we serve a creator who shaped the universe, but also knows every hair on our heads. That is the God with whom we get to have a personal relationship!
Please pray that our last day in Belfast would be a good one, and that all of our travel on the way home would be smooth and timely.
