Honduras Spring Break Update 3

The update today comes from Cassidy Rogers...
Today we rode in the trucks to another church up in the mountains. While we were there, we helped locals mix cement and soak bricks to make a wall around the church. On our lunch break, Pastor Jonathan told his testimony and shared about the church and how it started. We were able to pray for him and his family and the growing church. On our way home, we stopped at Cafe Americano to try the famous local drink, Mochaccino. All in all it was a fantastic day of working to further the kingdom of God.
As I’ve been experiencing the culture and getting to know Honduras, my eyes have been opened to new ways of seeing the Lord’s awesomeness. Everywhere I look I see beautiful sights of mountains, palm trees, pine trees, animals and locals. At the same time, I see and hear things that break my heart; it’s an amazing accomplishment when kids make it through 6th grade, homes are made of scraps, people are lucky to be able to make just 1 dollar a day. I think this represents how cultures are beautiful and broken perfectly. And even with all these struggles, there are people here who have deep joy and experience God in ways I didn’t even know were possible. It’s only day 3 of this trip and I’ve already learned so much. I can’t wait for what more God has in store.
