Dominican Republic Spring Break Update 1
Posted: Monday, April 01, 2019
We made it to DR! The team had a smooth arrival into Santo Domingo and received a very warm welcome from the crew from El Circulo Church. We had some good first laughs as they tried to memorize names. But we were impressed how many they could remember!
Our first stop was lunch at a local pizza place. That was followed up by getting a walking tour through the Colonial Zone, the oldest part of the city which has so much history. With it being a Sunday afternoon lots of people were out and about so it made for a lively walk. The architecture was incredible and we were impressed with the beauty of the area.
We loaded back up in the bus and made our way to the mission house where we’ll be staying for the week. We got settled in, ate dinner, then had some team time setting up some groundwork for the week and sharing together some of our first impressions and thoughts about being here.
We’re excited for the week ahead! We’re honored to be here joining in with how God is already at work here. We’ve already been able to see evidence of His goodness through the people from the Church and the beauty we’ve seen in the city. We’re anticipating so much more! Thanks for your prayers! We’re praying for great rest tonight and for an awesome first full day tomorrow.
