Dominican Republic 1: Update 3
Posted: Monday, June 25, 2018
To say today was an impactful day would be an understatement. Everywhere we look we see God working in this beautiful country. We started off the day with an early morning breakfast followed by a two-hour car ride back to Cotui. At Cotui, our day looked different for almost every person. Some spent time continuing to work on the water filtration project, playing with kids, and going on another prayer walk. Following our time at Cotui, we rode back to the hotel in a storm that left many roads flooded. We had some downtime between our activities which gave us the chance to get to know each other more which many enjoyed. We did have the chance to attend the youth group at El Circulo this evening where we got to hang out with different members of the church. The message was about Joseph and the different trials that he encountered and the ways that God was present and working in all of them. Caleb (the man preaching) connected that to our everyday lives and the trials we face. Something that greatly stood out was the reminder of how – even though it doesn't make sense sometimes – God remains good and His plan is absolutely perfect.
God is doing big things here in the DR which has been an encouragement to see while working alongside the people. We have a big week ahead of us and are looking forward to the ways that God will continue using us here to be His hands and feet.
