2019 Cambodia 1 Update 2

Today we were able to ease into the day as jet lag still hovered over us. Most waking before the sun but being able to watch the sunrise, have quiet devotions, and our first official breakfast that didn’t consist of airplane eggs and a muffin. We were able to wander through the Russian market and see how the Khmer people buy their food, clothes, and household items; while also getting to experience bargaining for some souvenirs. The afternoon was spending time with a former Rapha house girl with her husband and family; along with some other local missionaries. After lunch we went to our interpreters neighborhood to pick up some kids from Kids Club and take them to a soccer field we rented for a few hours. We were able to “play” soccer with the kids, although they were far better than we were, we still had fun and gave it our all. Some of the littler boys played Jenga for the first time with some of our leaders and the cheering for Jenga was almost as loud as the cheering for soccer. We ended the night with dinner and team debrief. Everyone off to bed shortly after as tomorrow will be an early rising day as we head off to Women’s island for church and won’t be back to the hotel until after dark.
