2019 Cambodia 1 Update 1

We all arrived safe and sound in phnom phen after too many hours and one lost day to count. The Lord looked upon us with even more grace as all our luggage arrived, the lines for customs and visas were short, and our ride was waiting at the curb. We were able to make our way through the heat and the heart of the bustling city to our hotel. After finding out we had to wait to check in Therea, our faithful leader, brought us to the genocide museum within the city to have a better understanding of what the country went through not so many years ago by the Khmer Rouge. The team was quiet and solum as we each walked through the rooms where so many had lost their lives. As Therea said, “If you want to understand sex trafficking in my country, you first have to understand what we survived. To know how we got to where we are now, you have to understand where we started from”. After a few hours of visiting the museum we went back to our hotels to clean up and make our way across the street for some pizza. Debrief tonight was just that, brief. As we were able to talk about all we had seen from airports to the museum to the monsoon storm happening outside our hotel. We ended the night with sweet prayer and dragged our bodies to our bedrooms as jet lag was creeping over us. Until tomorrow when Kingdom work begins with Kids Club, we’re off to bed with full bellies and happy hearts.
